Julie-Anne Knox joined the BEC in the role of Business Facilitator in September 2009.
Prior to running her own businesses, Julie-Anne worked as a marketing consultant to emerging IT businesses and was formerly SME Marketing Manager of MYOB accounting software. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Economics) and a Master of Management (Marketing). As an owner of multiple retail franchise stores, Julie-Anne has a solid understanding of all aspects of establishing and running a successful small business.
Her experience in business development includes Business planning and gaining finance, Leasing, accounts and payroll,
Financial analysis, Marketing planning and promotions, Sales and customer service, Human resources and operations management.

Are you thinking about starting your own business? Have you got an idea you want to turn into a business? Are you new to business and want to learn how to get more out of it? Do you want to network with other new business owners and be inspired?
This workshop will be able to give you the tips and knowledge you need to get your business off to a great start.
Join Julie-Anne Knox, BEC Business Facilitator, as she assists you to:
- Learn how to research and evaluate business ideas and opportunities
- Find out what is required to start and operate a new business
- Create a basic business plan that can be used to guide your business or for the purpose of gaining finance
- Understand basic record keeping systems and requirements
- Get motivated by interacting with other like-minded business owners
This workshop will equip you with the tools to progress to the next level in researching, evaluating, or developing your business idea. All attendees also receive a resources pack with useful written business literature and reference information.
This workshop is suitable for anyone thinking about starting, or has recently started, their own business.
