Small Business Today - Is it For You? Workshop

TBA 9.30am - 4.30pm

Have you got a great idea for a new business?  Do you want to know how to start making it happen?  This is a practical workshop where you conduct a feasibility study on your business idea including a risk assessment and evaluation of the opportunities.  By the conclusion of this full day workshop you will have more information on which to decide if you should proceed with the business. .
At this workshop we will cover;

  • Evaluate readiness to establish your own business and make a decision to start (or not start) a small business
  • Understand what is meant by micro and small business
  • Discuss the benefits and challenges of being self-employed
  • Identify the characteristics of successful small business owner/operators
  • Acknowledge the importance of being able to cope with change including new technology and globalisation
  • Understand the importance of customer service focus
  • Beware of start up costs, difference between cash and profit

This is a small group interactive workshop where participants discuss their own business ideas and seek feedback and advice.   If sufficient demand this workshop can be run on a Saturday.
