Presentation Skills Workshop

Being able to communicate effectively is a key part of business success, making the ability to confidently deliver a speech or presentation an important skill.
If you’ve ever suffered nerves before presenting, want to know what structure to use for your presentations or need to hone your active listening skills to understand your audience better, then this is the course for you.
In this workshop, Graham Thom from Balfour College will give you the skills and knowledge required to prepare, deliver and review a presentation to your target audience. Activities will include short presentations that will require no prior preparation
Course content:
- The nature of communication.
- Knowing the audience and its needs.
- The structure of a business presentation.
- The use of skeletal notes, including mind maps.
- The differences between spoken and written English in communicating ideas.
- The importance of rehearsal.
- Effective use of voice.
- Controlling nerves.
- Anticipating questions and responding appropriately.
- Active listening skills
- Overcoming your fears and nerves in presenting
- Planning and reviewing your presentation
- Do’s and don’ts of presenting
- Using presentation equipment effectively
