Marjorie Boyd has been teaching MYOB at St George TAFE for ten years in the Business Technology & Administration and Accounting sections. Prior to joining TAFE, Marjorie had extensive office administration experience mainly with small business involving book-keeping and payroll. Marjorie has TAFE qualifications in Information Technology, Business Administration, Accounting, Training and Assessing.
In addition to teaching Marjorie is currently working in industry – assisting three small businesses with their accounts.

An Introduction to MYOB for SME's (Small to Medium enterprises) Workshop

Are you using MYOB but flying blind? Do you know what reports you should be asking your bookkeeper to provide you with or is bookkeeping one of the many ‘hats’ you wear yourself in the business? Are you employing staff for the first time and need to run payroll through MYOB? These are but a few of the reasons that this workshop could be exactly the answer to your MYOB needs!
Attendees will learn the basics around using the accounting software package MYOB, one of the biggest selling Windows based small business accounting packages in Australia.
Who should attend this course?
This course is designed for owners, managers or staff in small to medium businesses to introduce MYOB beginners to the many features offered by this software package to enhance the productivity of their business.
Prerequisites:
To attend this course, participants should have basic computing skills and a basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Have an acquired knowledge of MYOB Accounts List;
- Create cards for customers and suppliers and set up items to buy and sell;
- Create invoices, track receivables, and enter payments;
- Enter supplier invoices, track payables and make payments to suppliers;
- Write cheques, make deposits and reconcile your bank account;
- Produce a variety of business-related reports;
- Use MYOB to produce a Business Activity Statement;
- Create and modify payroll categories;
- Use MYOB Payroll module to process employee pays.
For those people who may be interested in later on going on to complete the full “Financial Services (Bookkeeping) Cert IV” through TAFE, there is recognition of prior learning available.
