Winning Business Online

Maria Cook commenced duties as Executive Officer of Business Enterprise Centre - St George and Sutherland Shire in September 2007. Maria has had a very extensive career in a wide range of positions and industries including Local Government, TAFE lecturer, CEO of charities and corporate experience as a McDonalds’ employee. Maria was a finalist in the 2000 Telstra Business Woman of The Year.

Maria has lived all her life in either St George or Sutherland Shire and has worked for a number of organizations within these regions. Maria has also worked for six years in a national role as a McDonalds’ employee managing Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In her role with the BEC Maria has coached numerous people setting up their own consultancy and has developed a unique way of assisting consultants to make the transition from employee and who focuses on skills and services to business owner focussing on selling products.

Just a quick note to say a huge thank you for preparing and presenting your Below the Line Marketing for Consultants training course. I got so much from the session, I have transformed the way I view my business and I am in the process of implementing the changes. It is wonderful not to be so driven by hourly billing and to view my skills as a product set that I can market! It has only been about 6 weeks since the course ended and I have implemented some of your suggestions and already picked up more work (during what is traditionally a quiet time) – the course has paid for itself! I would highly recommend the session to any consultant looking for ideas on how to grow their business.

Karen Bowness, Über Marketing

Maria is a great asset to anyone in business. She sees opportunities for businesses and business owners, and assists in getting business people in touch with each other and with service providers to help grow better business practices. She is honest, highly ethical, and straightforward and I enjoy working with her and know that she is always available to assist, to offer solutions and to help solve any problem presented.
