Kerry Cirson has been delivering training in computer applications (basic, intermediate and advanced levels) for the past 15 years with TAFE NSW. Over this period, she has been customising/contextualising computing resources for numerous organisations. With 10 years experience as an Office Manager which involved a variety of office administration tasks and developing publications and reports using an integrated software program, Kerry knows firsthand what business needs.
Kerry also holds TAFE qualifications in Diploma of Business Administration and Workplace Training and Assessing.

Integrated Office 2007 – Using Word, Excel and Publisher Together Workshop

Sick of spending hours trying to get your mail merges right? Do you have sensitive documents that you would like to be able to secure with passwords? Have trouble importing your excel charts into those important Powerpoint presentations? If so, we can help!
This hands-on, computer based workshop extends your skills with the Microsoft Office 2007 Suite of programs and helps you to link your documents from one software package to another. It allows you to work smarter not harder, giving you great practical tips on using Microsoft Office to its full capacity which will save you time and limit the frustrations we have all encountered when not knowing how to use software to its full capability.
Who should attend?
Anyone that wants to use Microsoft Office more effectively be it a Business Owner or a member of your team that uses the Microsoft Office suite. This course has been tailored for the BEC community and saves you having to attend a different course for each type of software.
Prerequisites:
This training assumes a basic understanding and level of skill in using Microsoft Word and Excel. The course uses Publisher but no previous experience in publisher necessary.
It is also important for participants to have a general understanding of personal computers and the Windows operating system as the learner will be required to start applications, work with and copy files, and locate file folders.
During this course, we will cover:
- Inserting charts in Excel and using them in Word documents
- Embedding Excel spreadsheets into Word documents, eg. Create letters and labels in Word that are linked to Excel worksheets such as pricelists or class lists, that update automatically
- Import and Export text files with Excel
- Sending Word, Publisher or Excel documents as Email messages
- Importing data into Word or Publisher from an external data file using the Microsoft Office 2007 Data Connection Wizard
- Linking Documents (eg. Linked objects V’s embedded objects, creating & breaking links)
- Spreadsheet functions within word.
- Using PDF files in word documents
- Document encryption
- Importing excel charts and text outline into PowerPoint
- Copying Word tables into Excel
