Eunika Janus is the New South Wales State Outreach Manager at IP Australia. As part of her role, Eunika is responsible for raising awareness of intellectual property issues amongst the business and general community in NSW, with a particular focus on the fashion industry.
Before joining IP Australia, Eunika worked as a solicitor in the trade marks practice of one of Australia’s largest corporate law firms, where she was involved in managing the trade mark portfolios of clients in a diverse range of industries including fashion, consumer goods, hospitality and media.
Eunika has Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) degrees from the University of New South Wales, where she received the University Medal. Eunika has also studied at the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland, and has published articles on intellectual property and marketing in a variety of academic and legal journals.

As designers, you continuously use your creativity to develop new concepts in fashion. Unfortunately, the better your designs, the higher the risk that they will be copied. Come along to this workshop and hear about how you can protect your name and your designs in Australia and overseas.
Learn how established fashion designers use trade marks, registered designs and other forms of intellectual property to build up their labels and discourage copycats. Find out how IP Australia can help you and what free resources are available to help you get started.
You will:
- Understand the importance of protecting your trade marks and registering your designs
- Learn how to search and navigate IP Australia’s trade marks and designs databases
- Learn how to file applications for trade marks and registered designs both in Australia and overseas
- Receive a free copy of IP Australia’s Fashion Rules publication
