Trisha Carter is an Organisational Psychologist who has worked in HR and now specializes in the Cross Cultural Training area. Coming form an HR background she can identify with the business pressures facing HR as they work to get the right people in overseas assignments while balancing cost and performance outcomes. She has a Masters Degree in Organisational Psychology and is registered as a Psychologist in NSW and New Zealand. Since living for three years in China, in the mid to late 90s Trisha has focused on working with organizations, expatriates and their families to ensure their overseas assignments are successful.

Introduction to Chinese Culture Workshop
Increase Your Cultural Intelligence

This 3.5 hour workshop is designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture and raise awareness of similarities and differences between cultures. Improve your ability to establish business contacts, build relationships and be successful in China.
We will cover at an introductory level:
• Three critical factors in cultural intelligence and how to continue developing your CQ
• Increasing your level of comfort and confidence in relating to businesspeople in China
• Identifying how culture influences our thoughts, beliefs and behaviours
• Recognising Australian and Chinese values and mindsets
• Recognising behavioural differences – the dos and don’ts
• Improving communication skills in China – pronunciation, greetings, interpreters
• Identifying our own responses and reactions to cultural differences
• Building confidence in meeting new business contacts in China
Drawing on her experience in Human Resources, Learning and Development and Change Management, as well as her International experience in China, Trisha Carter has developed programs to enable people to develop and expand their skills and build their confidence in doing business in other cultures. Trans Cultural Careers has delivered programs in this area for a range of corporate clients for over eight years and many hundreds of participants.
