Stepping Up Advanced Leadership in Business Program

The Stepping Up Advanced Leadership in Business Program is aimed at established business managers committed to growing their business. Participating businesses will benefit from the program by having leaders and managers who are able to lead more confidently, manage people more effectively, enhance customer relationships, improve business performance, manage their time better, increase competitiveness and add quality to their business. The outcomes should manifest themselves in building profits, creating jobs and promoting sales and exports.

By completing the program, participants will be better equipped to face the challenges of today’s competitive, rapidly changing global marketplace.

The program comprises five 2 hour interactive workshops plus 10 hours of mentoring with a personally appointed mentor. Each workshop is themed and contains subjects highly relevant to today’s business leaders. The facilitators of the workshops will also provide the mentoring so the program is comprehensive, personal and results driven.

The program is designed for SME business leaders like MDs, CEOs, principals, directors, general and senior managers, board members and high potentials who want to enhance their leadership and management capabilities.

The Stepping Up Advance – Leadership in Business Program starts in February 2010 and runs for four months.

The Stepping Up Advance – Leadership in Business Program with its unique combination of formal workshops, personal mentoring as well as peer support and networking offers long-lasting skills, business contacts and an opportunity to work on specific strategies to support improved leadership in business.

Eligibility Criteria

A client business must meet all of the following criteria to be accepted into the Stepping Up Advanced Program:

• NSW-based.
• Able to provide financial accounts and reports for at least two financial years which show the business is profitable and has a positive balance of assets over liabilities.
• Has sales turnover of between $200,000 and $30 million per annum.
• Employs at least one staff member in addition to the owner.
• Be committed to growth
  

Workshop Content

Each series of workshops is tailored to the individual needs of participants but traditionally covers some of the following topics:

• Leadership vs Management
• Personal SWOT
• Managing and Leading Self
• Managing and Leading Others
• Leading Teams
• Planning next steps
  

Each workshop is delivered by an experienced professional and provides an environment in which to strategically evaluate your own performance and define and take action to bring about change.

Mentoring

Each participant will benefit from 10 hours of coaching with their business mentor. Participants will set their own objectives and their personal development plan, assisted by their mentor. Provided that participants have put into use their newly acquired skills from the workshops and their mentoring, they are assured of leading and managing with improved ability and confidence for the benefit of them and their organisations.
