This presentation aims to provide a more detailed look at the role of the activity statement, and details of the specific activity statement labels that small businesses may need to complete.
We will cover the following topics:
- the purpose of an activity statement
- the layout of an activity statement
- the GST, PAYG withholding and instalment labels plus the other labels
- how you can use activity statement data to plan and budget, and
- where to find more information.
Business deductions essentials (BDE)
The aim of this presentation is to increase your knowledge and awareness of what income tax deductions are and what you generally can and can’t claim. We will be covering some of the more common business tax deductions in some detail, with worked examples.
We will cover the following topics:

- expenses you can claim, both immediately and over time
- some expenses you can never deduct
- trading stock and other special deductions
- tax losses
- keeping proper records, and
