Thinking about going into business?

Got something you are really passionate about?  Want to turn a hobby into a business?  Tired of your job and want to do something new? .  Going into business can be a good idea but good ideas are often hampered by a lack of proper planning.  Take the time now to begin your preparation.  A good place to start is the Small Business NSW website.  There are handy tools and questionnaires to show you how ready you are, (or if you really want to be in business).

Once you have decided to go ahead, start to formulate your business plan.  You can download our basic Business Plan Template.  When you print this you will find instructions on the left hand page telling you what information is needed for the corresponding section on the opposite page.  Remember your business plan is a work in progress and can be used on future occasions including applying for loans and grants.

A search engine (Google etc.) is a good place to begin gathering basic information.  Type in a question (How do I ...?, Where do I...?) and you will be surprised at the information you can discover.
